Place I thought I got, didn't work out. So I still need a room in the Mission/TenderNob/Market St./Downtown/Haight/Hayes Valley neighborhoods.
I want a blog that references the famous tailor's blog, that tells me how to behave in polite company, how to buy a good dress shoe, and basically replicates the finer gents' mags.
Also, what blogs should I read to complement the New Yorker?
In the back booth at the It's Tops diner, MJ asked me, "I noticed that in times of need, you use public ways to ask for help. Why is that?" I didn't have an answer, except that it works.
I live with 14 people. One of them is now suffering from physical and mental illness. As a result, she will probably need to live on the first floor of our house. The only available room is mine.
While I am not obligated to make any accomodations, the only right thing is for me to give her my room. I will probably do that in two days.
There are some niggly logistics, but the point is that in under a month, I may move out of my house.
I can pay up to $750 rent easily, up to $900 possibly. I need a room of my own, in the Castro, Mission, Haight, Cole Valley, Hayes, or anywhere along Market Street. I might be open to other neighborhoods.
Please let me know if you or anyone you know has such a room. You will help me give my roommate a comfortable place to spend some of her last time on earth with the housemates that have known her for years.

The one with the San Francisco neighborhoods, where you can nudge the boundaries as you see fit, so the map eventually reflects consensus?
My home bank (M&T) sucks. Whom do I switch to? I need:
- Overdraft insurance. M&T once charged me $300 in a day in a cascade of overdrafts. Only after they took my money did they try to sell me overdraft insurance.
- No frozen deposits. M&T sometimes froze deposits for no reason. A call to their customer support got the money freed, which makes me ask why it wasn't freed in the first place.
- Decent online banking. M&T's is hideous.
- If my card is stolen or lost, a new one within a week. M&T said it'll take TEN BUSINESS DAYS to send me a new check card after my old one was stolen. Have you ever tried to live on checks and charity for two weeks when you have money in the bank? It's frustrating and embarrassing.
- ATMs throughout San Francisco. No more $1.75 fees, please.
Does your bank fit these needs? Please tell me.
